Hua Jueming was born in 1933. In 1958, he graduated from Tsinghua University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. In 1967, he went to graduate school and studied History of Mining in The Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, CAS. He has successively held the posts of Research Associate and Vice-Director of the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, Director of The Institute for History of Science and Technology and Ancient Texts at Tsinghua University, Member of the committee of the science and technology of cultural artifacts of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, President of the Society of Chinese Traditional Handicraft, and Member of the committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture. He also holds concurrent professor posts in Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Tongji University. His research areas include the history of technology, the philosophy of technology and traditional handicraft. He has published 130 papers and 14 monographs. His representative publications include: The History and Study of Metallurgy and Foundry, Metallurgy in Ancient China, Chinese Handicrafts, Selected Essays of Hua Jueming, and Thirty Great Inventions of China. Li Jinsong was born in April 1965 in Qishan, Shaanxi province. He is an associate researcher in the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, also a director and deputy secretary general of Traditional Craft Research Institute. In recent years, he pays attention to the investigation and research of Chinese traditional crafts. He has published more than 10 papers including Investigation and Research on Traditional Production Techniques of Vegetable Oil, and 7 works Investigation and Research on Traditional Techniques of Clothing and Food in Guizhou and Guangxi. Contact . Wang Lianhai, male, was born inMarch 1952 in Beijing. He is an associate researcher in Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. Since 1979, he has been engaged in the research of Chinese folk and traditional arts and crafts, and published 32 main works, such as Traditional Chinese Folk Paper-cutting, Beijing Folk Toys, Paper-cut for Embroidery Patterns, A Collection of Knowledge of auspicious Patterns, History of Chinese Toy Art, etc. In addition, he also has published many papers. Academic organizations he takes part in include: Consultant of Folk Arts and Crafts Committee, Chinese Arts and Crafts society; Standing consultant of Beijing Toy Association.
