Predatory Tactics

This video graphically captures the fight for survival in the microcosmic realm. Using microscopy and video techniques, it illustrates the strategies adopted by predator and prey among single living cells or micro-organisms barely visible to the naked eye. The sequences include various Amoebae, Coleps, Noctiluca, Epipyxis, Paraphysomonas, Paramecium, Plumatella, Anthophysa, Vacuolaria, Salpingoeca, Actinophrys, Leishmania, Vorticella, Stentor, various oxytrichid ciliares, a slime mold and several rotifiers.
