Proceedings of the Bremen Workshop on Light Scattering by Particles 2022, held via Zoom by the Leibniz-Institut für Werkstofforientierte Technologien -IWT in Bremen in March 21 + 22, 2022.
The papers collected in this volume explore the current state of light scattering byparticles as it developed in recent years. They represent a selection of the presentationsheld during the Bremen Workshop on Light Scattering by Particles 2022, which was organizedonline via Zoom by the Leibniz-Institut für Werkstofforientierte Technologien -IWT situated on the University of Bremen Campus in Bremen in March 21 + 22, 2022.During this year's workshop, various theoretical and practical aspects of light scatteringby particles very discussed. The papers collected in this volume demonstrate thewide interdisciplinary nature of the interest in light scattering by particles and particleaggregates.Especially various practical aspects were extensively discussed ranging from near-fieldeffects, polymer dispersed liquid crystal devices, magnetoplasmonic nanoparticles, flowcytometry, stratified sphere to inversion. The theoretical approaches used to simulate and investigate the mentioned practicalproblems include the Mie theory, Discrete Dipole Approximation (DDA), GeneralizedNonlocal Optical Response (GNOR), Discrete Sources Method (DSM), Monte Carlo simulation,Generalized Lorenz-Mie theory (GLMT), Boundary Element Method (BEM) andthe T-Matrix Method.
