Proceedings of the Bremen Workshop on LightScattering by Particles 2023, organized onlinevia Zoom by the Leibniz-Institut für Werkstofforientierte Technologien - IWT in Bremen in March 2023.
The papers collected in this volume explore the current state of light scattering byparticles as it developed in recent years. They represent a selection of the presentationsheld during the Bremen Workshop on Light Scattering 2023, which was organized onlinevia Zoom by the Leibniz-Institut für Werkstofforientierte Technologien - IWT situated onthe University of Bremen Campus in Bremen in March 2023.Over the years, this workshop became a regular institution with participants not onlyfrom Germany but also from all over the word. Actually, this year there were again 27participants from 14 different countries. During this year's workshop, various theoreticaland practical aspects of light scattering by particles very discussed. The papers collectedin this volume demonstrate the wide interdisciplinary nature of the interest in light scatteringby particles and particle aggregates.Especially various practical aspects were extensively discussed ranging from flow cytometer, inverse light scattering, photonic jets, electron energy-loss spectroscopy, opticalforces, repository for T-matrices to bianisotropic scatterers. The theoretical approaches used to simulate and investigate the mentioned practicalproblems include the Mie theory, Discrete Dipole Approximation, Discrete SourcesMethod, Monte Carlo simulation.
