Bakenaz A. Zeidan is Professor of Dams and Water Resources at Tanta university, Egypt. She was the head of the water department from 2003 until 2012. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate civil engineering students; including courses related to water engineering, Nile water crisis, and numerical modeling. She has more than 40 international published papers covering Nile water conflict, groundwater quality modelling, and FEM simulation of seismic responses of dam-reservoir-foundation coupled systems. She has participated in more than 50 scientific events and has supervised many Msc. and PhD dissertations. She is an active member of NGWA, ICOLD, USSD and is a peer reviewer for international water journals. Professor Zeidan is the focal point of Tanta university for the ministry of irrigation and water resources-Egypt and Founder of Tanta University Water Research and Technology Centre TUWRTC in 2011.
