GURUPRASAD SAMANTA is Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Howrah, India. He earned his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from the University of Calcutta, India, in 1991. His research areas are mathematical biology and operations research.
