Demanding Sustainability

John Morrissey is a Lecturer in Geography at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, Ireland. John’s research is focused on sustainable development, particularly sustainability transitions, low-carbon development and challenges of the low carbon economy for urban and coastal communities. His work is focused on the differentiation of transition processes across space, place and communities. He has taught and researched on sustainability issues in Ireland, The UK, Australia and New Zealand. C. Patrick Heidkamp is a Professor in the Department of the Environment, Geography and Marine Sciences at SCSU and a visiting lecturer in the School of Natural Sciences and Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. He is the co‐director of the Connecticut State University System Center for Environmental Literacy and Sustainability Education and an affiliate of the Economic Rights Research Group at the University of Connecticut. He is a broadly trained geographer with research interests in environmental economic geography, just sustainability transitions and the history and philosophy of geographic thought.
