This book gives a comprehensive introduction to the new geophysical detection theories, methods and technologies of tunnel engineering under complex geological conditions and environments. It mainly focuses on the application of 3D seismic technique, 3D high-power resistivity sounding, and 3D GPR, etc. There are 7 chapters in the book. Chapter 1 introduces the state of the art and developing trends of geophysical detection technologies for tunnel engineering. Chapter 2 analyzes the complex geological conditions and environments for tunnel construction and the latest geophysical detection technologies. Chapter 3 to Chapter 7 systematically elaborate on the 3D seismic techniques, 3D detection technologies for water content in tunnel surrounding rocks, 3D detection technologies for side/back slope, 3D detection technologies for shield tunneling, and 3D detection technologies for collapse treatment of tunnel construction. The book presents numerous case studies to illustrate the applications of these technologies.

Guohou Cao, Dr., is a senior engineer of Army Research Institute for Engineering Design, and he is a well-known engineering expert of the Chinese army with professional technical level 3 and major general of professional and technical. He is the representative of the 13th National People's Congress and the representative of the 9th National Congress of China Science and Technology Association. He has been selected for the military high-level scientific and technological innovation talents engineering science and technology leading talents. He has been engaged in the construction and research of battlefield engineering for a long time and has solved a series of key technical problems that restrict the construction of battlefield engineering, especially in the direction of defense engineering camouflage technology in the non-vegetation area of the plateau, national defense engineering geological prediction and quality non-destructive testing. He has a series of major research results including won 3 first prizes and 9 second prizes for science and technology progress of Chinese army and owns 8 national invention patents.

Hao Liu is a senior engineer, founder, and chairman of Yunnan Aerospace Engineering Geophysical Detecting Co., Ltd. He has long been engaged in the research and management of non-destructive detection and geological disasters treatment in bridges and tunnels. He has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects in the military and Yunnan provinces such as 'Defense Engineering Geological Prediction and Quality Nondestructive Testing System' and 'Three-Dimensional Imaging Tunnel Geological Advance Forecasting Complete Technology Research.' He won 1 first prize for science and technology progress of Chinese army and published more than 10 scientific papers.
