This new volume "Iridium Catalysts for Organic Reactions" in the series "Topics in Organometallic Chemistry" intends to update several representative well-known reactions and to introduce other less known or new reactions in particular covering sustainability aspects. Iridium complexes are efficient in many catalytic homogeneous transformations providing high efficiency in both results, activity and selectivity.  The interest of the book lies in the presentation of the advances, new perspectives and application in a variety of representative iridium-catalysed reaction. All chapters in the volume are contributed by relevant international experts in the field. The book is aimed at researchers, graduate students and synthetic chemists at all levels in academia and industry.

Luis A. Oro obtained his Ph. D. from the University of Zaragoza in 1970. His post-doctoral studies were undertaken at Cambridge University. He has served on the faculties of the Universities of Zaragoza, Madrid Complutense, and Santander. He became full professor of Inorganic Chemistry in Zaragoza in 1982 and served as head and founder of the Homogeneous Catalysis Institute (2004-2013). He has (co)authored well over 600 scientific papers, several reviews and some books on synthesis, reaction mechanisms and homogeneous catalysis of platinum group metal complexes. He has received several Honoris Causa Doctorates. He is member of several international scientific academies, and recipient of many prestigious awards including Humboldt Research Award, King Jaime I Research Prize, Aragón Prize, Sacconi Medal, Gold Medal of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, National Research Prize for Chemistry and Lord Lewis Prize from the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has been President of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS) (2008-11).
Carmen Claver is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Rovirai Virgili University of Tarragona (Spain) since 1991. Her research focuses on sustainable aspects of catalysis. Research leader from 1985, with continued involvement in competitive projects, industrial contracts and European projects and 30 supervised PhD. Vice-Rector of Research URV 1993-1997, Scientific Director of the "Technological Centre of Chemistry of Catalonia" and Director of the "Unit of Technology Chemistry" Eurecat from 2009 until 2020. Chair of excellence Pierre de Fermat in France (2009-2011). Member of the Scientific Council of the National Council of Scientific Research (CNRS) France (2009-2014). Member of the Academia Europea (2012). She is a recipient of prestigious awards including "Ciamician-Gonzalez" Lecturer Award by "Real Sociedad Española de Química" (RSEQ) and "Società Chimica Italiana" (SCI) (2014) Gold Medal for Research Organometallic (2015) 'Miguel Catalán-Paul Sabatier' Prize, Societé Chimie Française (2016) Doctor "Honoris Causa", University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse (2019).
