Computational Fluid-Structure Interaction for Nuclear Reactor Applications
Woodhead Publishing (Verlag)
978-0-12-822809-8 (ISBN)
Numerical algorithms, modeling and applications, validation and verification approaches are included to equip nuclear professionals, plant designers, analysts and researchers with a solid understanding of state-of-the-art approaches for FSI and its advanced applications and modern approaches.
Dr. Afaque Shams is senior research consultant at Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group (NRG), the Netherlands. He is a well-known expert in nuclear thermal hydraulics, particularly turbulence modelling, fluid-structure interaction and high-fidelity simulations. Since 2010, he has been actively involved in several national and international projects for the design and safety support of different reactor types (Generation II, III and IV). He is leading a work-package on ‘turbulence and vibration’ in a European collaborative project ‘thermal hydraulics Simulations and Experiments for the Safety Assessment of Metal cooled reactors (SESAME)’. Dr. Shams has authored or written more than 100 scientific articles.
