Molecular Basis of Neurology is the first title in a new series (edited by Thomas Cashey, President of the American Society for Human Genetics) which integrates the new biology with clinical medicine and is designed to make it accessible to the non-expert. Each volume within the Series deals with a clinical specialty on which the new moleclular biology has had the most significant effect. This new title is authored by doctors and scientists, each selected for their experience and expertise in their given field, to ensure maximum integration of the science with clinical medicine. The book commences with an introductory chapter written at a level suitable for the non-expert which clearly explains the fundamental principles of molecular biology. This foundation chapter includes a glossary and the text is supported by wide use of diagrams.
