Planar Gel Electrophoresis: For Protein Separation presents the state-of-the-art in planar gel electrophoretic techniques and how they can be implemented in laboratory practice for protein separation. The book covers the whole of the subject, including its historical background, concepts, applications and new developments in planar gel electrophoresis in protein separation. Chapters are written by experts with deep experience in their field. This volume serves as a practical guide for researchers to choose and utilize suitable sample preparation procedures, also describing notable contemporary uses in planar gel electrophoresis in industrial and academic project environments.

Dr Teck Yew Low is currently an Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow at the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), National University of Malaysia (UKM), where he leads the cancer proteomics and metabolomics group. He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and worked with mass spectrometry-based proteomics in the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), the Center for Experimental Bioinformatic (CEBI) in University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and the Netherlands Proteomics Center (NPC) in Utrecht University in the Netherlands. His research interests include bridging proteomics with clinics, phosphoproteomics and cancer proteogenomics in the Malaysian population.
