Javier Hernán Signorelli has a BS in Biology and PhD from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started working in the field of malacology under the supervision of Dr. Guido Pastorino, and in 2012 he obtained a permanent position as a researcher at Centro Nacional Patagónico (CCT CONICT-CENPAT) in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. He has published 22 scientific papers in international journals and 17 contributions in conferences and meetings. In addition, he has received several awards and grants from eminent institutions and societies, such as the Conchologists of America, Malacological Society of London, Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University and Idea Wild. Since 2011 he has served as the secretary of the Argentine Malacological Society (ASAM) and the curator of the Invertebrate Collection of the IBIOMAR (CCT CONICET-CENPAT).
