Known for over half a century simply as "Lange's Handbook", this classic reference covers the entire field of chemistry, with state-of-the-art facts, figures, values, tables and formulae. It is designed as a useful source of information for all chemistry professionals, engineers, and technicians. It features concise descriptions and cross-indexed subject listings. This 14th edition contains over 60 percent new or revised material, including conversion to the SI system. It covers: organic chemistry, including the physical properties of 4000 frequently-used organic compounds; inorganic chemistry, with nomenclature based on 1990 IUPAC recommendations and descriptions of over 2500 inorganic compounds; extensive thermodynamic data, with several new tables; spectroscopy, with new material on ultraviolet-visible, infrared, Raman, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectrometry; a competely updated section on polymers, rubbers, fats, oils, and waxes; plus detailed sections on atomic and molecular structure, analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, physical properties, practical laboratory information, and mathematics for chemists.
John Dean is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Mathematics Department at Park University. He earned a Ph.D. degree in computer science from Nova Southeastern University and an M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Kansas. He is Java certified and has worked in industry as a software engineer and project manager, specializing in Java and various Web technologies— JavaScript, JavaServer Pages, and servlets. He has taught a full range of computer science courses, including Java programming and Java-based web programming. He has authored a web programming textbook with a focus on client-side technologies HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
