Dr. Lei Chen has continued studying superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) in electric power systems for decades. He has proposed the voltage-compensation-type active SFCL and flux-coupling-type SFCL. In terms of mechanism modeling, conceptual design, prototype test, etc., He has solved the fundamental and application issues of the proposed SFCLs in traditional power systems and renewable energy systems. Dr. Lei Chen has conducted three projects for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two sub-projects for the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and three provincial and ministerial projects. Dr. Lei Chen has published over 180 academic papers, including 100 SCI-indexed papers (55 papers as the first author or corresponding author) and more than 60 EI-indexed papers. He has been authorized for over 20 invention patents and registered five computer softwritings. Dr. Lei Chen has been awarded the Best Paper Award and the Best Presentation Award at three IEEE conferences. He is currently an IEEE Senior Member and an Academic Editor/Associate Editor for Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems, IEEE Access, PLoS One, IET Smart Grid, and other International Journals. He was a session chair of the IEEE International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices (ASEMD) and a Technical Committee Member of the International Workshop on Communications and Smart Grid (IWCSG) and the Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE). Dr. Hongkun Chen has studied superconducting fault current limiters and power quality assessment/mitigation for decades. He has published over 60 academic papers and has been authorized for more than 30 invention patents. Dr. Li Ren has studied superconducting fault current limiters and superconducting magnetic energy storage for decades. She has published more than 100 SCI-indexed papers, including 35 SCI-indexed papers of first and corresponding authors. In addition, She has been authorized for more than 20 invention patents and registered 2 computer softwritings. Dr. Yuejin Tang has studied superconducting power applications for decades. He has published over 200 academic papers and has been authorized more than 40 invention patents.
