Neuro-oncology departments within cancer centers provide state-of-the-art treatment and research facilities addressing brain tumors and cancers of the nervous system. This book describes the neuroimaging centers housed within and the methodological advances that have emerged as a consequence of these integrated hospital and research facilities. With input from both researchers and clinicians, Neuroimaging Development in Neuro-Oncology Centers provides a comprehensive summary of these multidisciplinary neuro-oncology centers and the benefits of colocalized organization, delving into the multidisciplinary methods housed in these centers and their application in a clinical setting. This view of both research and clinical settings is extremely valuable and uniquely found in one volume here. This is a critical read for neuro-oncologists, neuroscientists, neuro-oncologists, neurologists, and any trainees working in methods development or brain tumor research, with the ultimate goal of elevating the quality of brain cancer research and treatment everywhere.

Dr. Henson is Chief of Oncology Services at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta. He oversees Piedmont Cancer, an 8,500 analytic-case program encompassing 10 acute care hospitals and research centres. He has practiced neuro-oncology for over 25 years and is a well-published leader in brain tumour imaging, with 115 articles, reviews and book chapters to date. Dr. Henson was on the staff of MGH and faculty of Harvard Medical School for 17 years. Prior to joining Piedmont Healthcare as the Chief of Oncology Services, Dr. Henson served as lab PI and chief of neurology at Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, and was Vice President of Medical Affairs at Swedish Medical Center. He was also in active clinical practice in neuro-oncology and neuroradiology. He served as the Pacific Northwest program director for NeuroNEXT, the NINDS clinical trials consortium. Board certified in neurology and neuro-oncology, Dr. Henson is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, Society for Neuro-oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and is a Fellow of the American Neurological Association, American Academy of Neurology, and American College of Healthcare Executives.
