Sheikh Tawhidul Islam is Professor at the Department of Geography and Environment, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been working in areas of environment, disaster management and climate change impacts for the last two decades. He has led more than 40 research projects and gained valuable experiences on environment and the development of Bangladesh and the region. Alak Paul is Professor at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. His research, focused mostly on marginalized people, uses qualitative methods and ‘grounded theory approaches’ in conducting research in the fields of human health and disease, environmental health and issues of man-made disaster events.
