Sustainable Bioenergy: Advances and Impacts presents a careful overview of advances and promising innovation in the development of various bioenergy technologies. It covers the production of bio-jet fuel, algal biofuels, recent developments in bioprocesses, nanotechnology applications for energy conversion, the role of different catalysts in the production of biofuels, and the impacts of those fuels on society. The book brings together global experts to form a big picture of cutting-edge research in sustainable bioenergy and biofuels. It is an ideal resource for researchers, students, energy analysts and policymakers who will benefit from the book’s overview of impacts and innovative needs.

Professor Mahendra Rai is a UGC-Basic Science Research Faculty Fellow and former head of the Department of Biotechnology, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, India. Presently, he is a visiting Scientist at the Department of Microbiology, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland. His areas of expertise include microbial biotechnology and nanobiotechnology. Currently, his group’s main research interest is green synthesis of metal nanoparticles particularly using fungi and their applications as nanoantimicrobials against pathogenic microbes. Prof. Rai has received several prestigious awards, including the Medini Award by the Government of India. He has been featured in Stanford’s list of the top 2% of scientists in nanoscience. Dr. Avinash P. Ingle has completed his doctoral degree from Department of Biotechnology, SGB Amravati University, Amravati. He had worked as Research Scientist in the same department from 2013-2016. Later he has awarded Postdoctoral Fellow (FAPESP) at the Department of Biotechnology, Engineering School of Lorena, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil for three years. Currently, Dr. Ingle is currently working as Research Scientist (Ramanujan Fellow) at Biotechnology Centre, Department of Agricultural Botany, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola, Maharashtra, India. Dr. Ingle has edited 10 books from various publishers like Springer, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, CRC Press, Blackwell Wiley, etc. in the fields of bioenergy, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Moreover, he has published about 65 book chapters and more than 90 research publications of high repute in esteemed journals. The research interests of Dr. Ingle mainly include nanobiotechnology, biofuel technology and sustainable agriculture.
