Proposing to teach the language of stata from an intuitive perspective, furthering students’ overall retention, the third edition has been thoroughly updated for STATA 15, with an appendices for users working with STATA 13 and 14.
Using Stata for Quantitative Analysis offers a brief but thorough introduction to analyzing data in undergraduate and graduate level research methods, statistics, and data analysis courses using Stata software. Kyle C. Longest teaches the language of Stata from an intuitive perspective, allowing students with no experience in statistical software to start working with data quickly and complete a basic quantitative research project from start to finish.

The Third Edition covers the use of Stata 15 and includes more information on data management and non-linear regression techniques. Enhanced layouts make finding important commands easy.

Kyle C. Longest received his bachelor’s in sociology from Indiana University, and his master’s and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently, Longest is an Associate Professor and Chair in the department of sociology at Furman University, where he teaches courses on Quantitative Analysis, Research Methods, Deviance, Sociology of Religion, Sports Analytics, and Harry Potter. Longest has written articles for a variety of publications, including Stata Journal, Social Forces, Sociological Perspectives, Sociological Forum, Journal of Business Venturing, and Journal of Marriage and Family.
