In this work, the Al-rich TiAl alloy family has been investigated in order to understand the microstructureproperty relationship within the mean-field homogenization approach. This is the first study of Al-rich TiAl alloy family, combining both the material science and mechanics perspective. To understand the origin of different length-scales dependent macroscopic plastic anisotropy and asymmetry is one of the prime objective of this thesis.
Some studies indicated that there are significant influences of long-range ordered superstructures in the Al-rich side of TiAl alloys, which is one of the most important characteristics of this family. This characteristic feature is emboldened by this study.
