Fibre Bragg Grating and No-Core Fibre Sensors (eBook)
XIX, 82 Seiten
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-319-90463-4 (ISBN)
This book focuses on the development and set-up of fibre Bragg grating (FBG) and no-core fibre (NCF) sensors. It discusses the properties of the sensors and modelling of the resulting devices, which include electronic, optoelectronic, photovoltaic, and spintronic devices. In addition to providing detailed explanations of the properties of FBG and NCF sensors, it features a wealth of instructive illustrations and tables, helping to visualize the respective devices' functions.
Dr Suzairi Daud received his Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. degrees in Physics from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Laser Center, Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific & Industrial Research and Department of Physics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has authored/co-authored numerous technical papers published in international journals, a research book, and four book chapters. His research interests include fibre Bragg gratings, fibre sensors, fibre lasers, optical solitons, nonlinear optical communication, and nanowaveguides. Further, Dr Daud is a member of the IEEE Asia Region, Malaysian Institute of Physics, and Malaysia Optics & Laser Technology Society.
Prof. Jalil Ali received his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1990. At present, he is affiliated with the Laser Center, Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific & Industrial Research and Department of Physics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as a Professor of Photonics. From 1987 to 2010, he held numerous faculty and research positions including the Dean/Director, Bureau of Innovation and Consultancy. He has authored/co-authored more than 300 research papers for international journals, 11 books and several book chapters. His main areas of interest are photonics, optical solitons, fibre couplers, nanowaveguides, and fusion energy. Prof. Ali is the UTM's delegate member for the African-Asian Association for Plasma Training (AAAPT). He is also a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), Source Path Isolation Engine (SPIE), and the Malaysian Institute of Physics.
