In this timely overview of the hot topic, displaying both application range and perspectives, outstanding experts and pioneers in the field begin with an introduction to muonium chemistry and to the techniques of muon spin spectroscopy. All relevant areas of varying degrees of complexity are discussed, from chemical reactivity in the gas phase to condensed matter and biological systems, while a chapter on the latest developments and promising perspectives completes this unique book.

Donald Fleming is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia in Canada. For the past 50 years his research has focused on the mass and spin relaxation features of muon probes in the chemical sciences. Iain McKenzie is a facility scientist at the Centre for Molecular and Materials Science at TRIUMF in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University and the University of Waterloo. He has 25 years of experience using muons to study free radicals and probe soft matter. Paul Percival is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. He was also a research scientist at TRIUMF for 40 years, with research covering a wide range of muonium chemistry.
