This work provides a comprehensive compilation of all the physiochemical aspects of the different biochemical and physiological processes. The principles are reviewed, and the text then shows how they are utilized in voltammetric and interfacial analysis of biomacromolecules, such as nucleic acids, proteins, polysaccharides and viruses in vitro, in the development of biosensors with electrochemical trandsducers, and in in vivo voltammetry. The final two chapters are devoted to the principles of electropjoresis used for separation analysis of biomolecules and to the theoretical principles and practical description of the patch-clamp technique.
