Joao Batista Freire de Souza Jr: Zootechnician with a Master Degree in Animal Science from the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid. Currently pursuing a PhD in Animal Science and is a researcher at the Center for Studies in Nutrition Monogastric (NENMO), and THERMOBIO linked to Laboratory of Biometeorology, Environmental Biophysics and Animal Welfare. Operates mainly in studies involving physical, physiological and nutritional factors on the thermoregulation of animals, especially birds and ruminants. Received prize in 2008 for the best paper presented at the oral section of the 18th International Congress of Biometeorology held in Tokyo, Japan, International Society of Biometeorology. Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Animal Behaviour and Biometeorology. Operates mainly in studies involving Animal Biometeorology, Environmental Biophysics, and Animal Behavior and Welfare with an emphasis on Africanized Bees.
