Hans H.A. Hötte, (PhD, 1970) was a professional ophthalmologist who spent decades of his life working on this atlas in his spare time. In addition to using the available literature in various languages, he also travelled frequently to the Balkans to obtain information on the ground. He died in 2007. Béla Vilmos Mihalik, Ph.D (2014, Budapest, Eötvös Loránd University) is a research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Centre for Humanities, Institute of History (Budapest) and director of the Hungarian Jesuit Archive (Budapest). He specialized in the history of Hungary in the 17-18th century, particularly in church history.
