Aqueous Polymeric Coatings for Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms
Crc Press Inc (Verlag)
978-1-4987-3208-6 (ISBN)
The fourth edition has been revised and expanded to reflect the most recent scientific advancements from the literature. The contributing authors explain in detail, using illustrated examples, appropriate steps to solve and ideally avoid formulation, processing, and stability problems and to achieve an optimized dosage form. Trade names and chemical names of commercially marketed coatings are used throughout the text to help familiarize the reader with the various materials available for pharmaceutical applications. This book will be a valuable resource for anyone in the pharmaceutical industry working in the area of aqueous-based film coating.
Linda A. Felton, Ph.D. is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. She earned a B.S. in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests are focused on polymeric film coating and modified release drug delivery systems. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Felton is a reviewer for a number of pharmaceutical journals and an editorial board member of Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy. She is the Manufacturing Section Editor of the 22nd edition of "Remington: The Science and Practice of Pharmacy", the Co-Editor of the 3rd edition of "Aqueous Polymeric Coatings for Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms", and Editor of ‘Remington: Essentials of Pharmaceutics". Dr. Felton has a joint appointment with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Cooperative Studies Program where she oversees the formulation development of clinical trials materials. She is a current member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Controlled Release Society, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering
