Other chapters consider the optical experiments to obtain mappings of the occupied and empty electronic density of states. This book includes as well a comprehensive list of compounds, as well as a description and classification of crystal-structure data. The final chapter deals with the important improvements in the experimental methods for studying surfaces and surface reactions.
