The work was based upon two expeditions to the region, led by the author, in 1937 and 1939. Whilst further research was prevented by the outbreak of WWII, a large amount of fresh information was found through exploration of unmapped areas and interaction with indigenous populations. Numerous illustrative figures are contained throughout, including a large number of photographs. This set will be of value to anyone with an interest in Newfoundland and Labrador.
