Jochen Pade wurde 1946 in Bielefeld geboren. 1978 machte er an der Universität Freiburg das Physikdiplom. Im gleichen Jahr erfolgte dort die Promotion in theoretischer Physik. Seit 1980 ist er Dozent an der Universität Oldenburg. Seine Arbeitsgebiete sind Theoretische Physik, Didaktik sowie Popularisierung von Naturwissenschaft.
