Cellular Physiology and Metabolism of Physical Exercise
Livio Luzi MD is Professor of Endocrinology and a world renowned diabetologist. In addition to his current role as Dean of the Faculty of Exercise Sciences at the University of Milan Medical School, he is also Adjunct Professor at the Diabetes Research Institute, Miami FL, USA. He has published over 300 scientific papers in the area of diabetes/metabolism/physical exercise and over the past 30 years has trained and/or supervised more than 30 fellows. Several of these have gone on to become principal investigators in the area of diabetes/metabolism/physical exercise. The two authors are presently working in the United States (Ricordi, University of Miami and Fiorina, Harvard University) and are top scientists in their field of research. Most of the remaining authors work in Milan and are world renowned scientists in their respective fields of research.
