Richly illustrated, this volume presents the Russian vision for the future of space exploration in the next 40 years, against a backdrop of the dramatic history of the post-Soviet collapse and the remarkable recovery of the nation's space program.
This title is a richly illustrated book on the Russian vision for the future of space exploration in the next 40 years, against a backdrop of the dramatic history of the post-Soviet collapse and the remarkable recovery of the nation's space program during the past two decades. The exclusive content of the book and the photo-realistic quality of the author's artwork is based on internal strategy documents not available to the general public and therefore never seen before. The material covers the most ambitious goals of the Russian space program, such as the construction of a permanent lunar base, an expedition to Mars, missions to asteroids and the moons of Jupiter. Russia's current effort to develop the next-generation manned spacecraft, its launch vehicle and the new launch sit, initiated in 2007, are also described in detail.

Anatoly Zak has more than two decades of work as a space journalist with extensive experience in high-end 3D graphics software and art direction. His numerous feature articles, news stories, illustrations, and animations have appeared in print, online, and on TV sources including; BBC News, Space News newspaper, Discovery.com, IEEE Spectrum, Smithsonian, The Financial Times, Wired.com, Popular Mechanics, and many others. Zak has appeared as a guest on various TV shows, such as CNN Next, CNN International Foreign Correspondents, BBC, Voice of America, and others, discussing space programs. He has worked as key researcher and contributor to "Partners and Space," a book commissioned by NASA and produced by the Eisenhower Institute, which chronicled US - Russian cooperation in space.
