A brief and exciting survey of modern synthetic methods and recent developments Organic Synthesis Highlights is a five-part collection of articles on various topics of organic synthesis. It covers organometallic chemistry, natural product chemistry and technical chemistry. The book is aimed at chemists working within organometallics, libraries, organic chemists, students, industrial chemists, and chemists involved in working with natural products. This book gives both the active researcher and the advanced student insight into the competitive atmosphere, creativity, and resourcefulness so characteristic of organic synthesis today.

Herbert Waldmann obtained his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Mainz in 1985, working with Professor Horst Kunz. He completed a postdoctoral appointment with Professor G. Whitesides at Harvard University. He was appointed as Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Bonn, full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Karlsruhe, and Director at the MPI of Molecular Physiology Dortmund and Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Dortmund. His research interests lie in the synthesis and use of small molecules in chemical biology research, the chemical biology of protein lipidation and protein microarrays. Johann Mulzer is a German organic chemist, best known for his work in total synthesis. He has been a professor of chemistry at the University of Vienna since 1996. His research interests include the asymmetric synthesis of natural products.
