This book brings together current thought on several aspects of the use of pesticides in an around homes, schools and workplaces. The book addresses several parts of the process, from the discovery and development of new active ingredients, their formulation, use, longevity, environmental fate and human exposure.
Chris J. Peterson is a research entomologist with the USDA Forest Service working on termite toxicology and the longevity of termiticide treatments. Previous research includes work on natural products, most notably the use of catnip oil as an insect repellent. Daniel M. Stout II has been associated with residential pesticides for over 20 years. His primary interests are in the fate and transport of residentially applied pesticides and the potential for human exposure. In addition Dr. Stout has background in the development of measurement techniques for human exposure studies and has conducted numerous field measurement studies.
