An examination of the traditional tale about the birth of Christ, which attempts to verify aspects of the story by giving an explanation of the virgin birth, identifying the Magi as actual historical figures, and exploring the astrological basis of the legend.

Almost 2000 years ago, the earth saw the dawning of the age of pisces. This new era brought with it the birth of Christianity heralded by the magi, more commonly known as "the three wise men". Here, using computer-generated star maps and other research, the author aims to answer such questions as: what was the astronomical phenomenon knows as the "star of Bethlehem", and how did it lead the magi to the birthplace of Christ?; what is the real date of Christ's birth, and how can the the enigma of the virgin birth be explained?; and why is the fish such an important feature of Christian symbolism?
