The new Nurse to Nurse series is specifically designed to simulate the teaching experience from which nurses learn best: trusted mentors carefully explaining what they must do in specific clinical situations. Written in a consistent, single-author voice, each book in the series brings the wisdom and experience of some of the foremost experts to non-specialist nurses in clinical care.

Current Appointments: Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, The Johns Hopkins University Schools of Medicine and Nursing Senior Faculty, The Copper Ridge InstituteInvolved with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for more than 20 years, Steele is an assistant professor of psychiatry, a faculty associate at JHUs School of Nursing, co-director of JHUs neuropsychiatry clinic and a senior faculty member at the Copper Ridge Institute. In all of these endeavors, she immerses herself in Alzheimers and related conditions such as dementia. But dealing with Alzheimers is far more than a job for Steele. Seeing firsthand the devastation the disease can wreak on families and long-term care providers, the Severna Park resident has become a tireless educator and advocate, always striving to reach one more family member or one more nurse and help him better understand and provide care for an Alzheimers patient. Steele wrote The Family Guideline Series for Dementia Care, and she established the Dementia Care Skills Lab at Copper Ridge for family caregivers. Copper Ridge, located in Sykesville, is an extension of the JHU School of Medicine that focuses entirely on Alzheimer's.
