The promotion of women's sexual health, where women are viewed holistically and as individuals, is one of the most important targets for health care. This textbook covers a range of women's issues from a woman-centred perspective. Section 1 explores key societal and personal issues for women, such as sexuality, teenage sex, becoming a "well-woman" and issues relating to women with special needs and concerns. Section 2 covers all aspects of childbearing and contraception, including postnatal sexuality, unplanned pregnancy, and fertility problems. Section 3 addresses screening and health promotion programmes for women, along with the full range of women's health problems and the practical care and treatment they need when ill or requiring surgery. This section further includes chapters on sexual health; PMS; continence issues; and the menopause.
