He breaks up the manual into body regions and shows which techniques are best suited for a particular body region either due to structure or due to the types of disease processes seen in that region. Following the discussion on each region of the body, the second half of the book deals with specific diseases and how to treat them with osteopathic techniques. The specific diseases discussed are organized by functional system and cover a wide range of presenting issues. Hazzard provides information on how to treat diseases such as angina, asthma, epilepsy, and insanity. There is also a chapter on intoxication and another on infectious disease. Overall, this is a very thorough manual on how to use Osteopathy in all presenting illnesses with his target audience medical students and fellow doctors.
