Surgical Anatomy of Head and Neck

This is a much-needed surgical-anatomical presentation of the head and neck area. The collaboration of an anatomist and two ear-nose-throat specialists has resulted in an new perspective on special anatomic aspects of head and neck surgery. The anatomy of the surgical site during an operation on the head and neck is described from a surgeon's viewpoint. In many illustrations the structure lying above the surgical site that has to be removed is presented as transparent and the underlying structures are emphasized. In others, the underlying contours are projected in outline onto the surface of the operational site. The text contains all-important topographical references. An index of the different operations with pointers to the relevant anatomical figures makes references easier. The atlas offers the ear-nose-throat-, oral-, plastic-, and neurosurgeon a quick, comprehensive and reliable source of information for daily practice in a field with particular topographical difficulties.
