The critical care hematology service team manages bone marrow transplant recipients and donors, as well as patients with acute leukemia, aplastic anemia and all other hematologic disorders requiring intensive support. In twelve articles in this issue, a broad range of topics are covered, including transfusion, sepsis and coagulation, antiacoagulation, pharmacologic therapy, and hematologic crisis in the intensive care unit.
