Anne I. Dipchand, MD, FRCPC is head of the Heart Transplant Program and a staff cardiologist specializing in heart function and echocardiography at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. She trained at the University of Toronto and did paediatric residency and cardiology fellowship training at SickKids where she has been on staff for 25 years. Dr. Dipchand also leads SickKids Fontan longterm follow up clinic. Dr. Dipchand's academic interests include outcomes research in end-stage heart failure, paediatric heart transplantation, alloantibodies and sensitization, transplant cardiac allograft vasculopathy, long-term Fontan outcomes and Fontan failure.
David Barron MBBS, MD, FRCP, FRCS(CT) is Division Head of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He trained in the UK at St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, London and cardiac surgery training in Papworth, the Royal Brompton, Great Ormond Street and Birmingham Children's Hospitals. Before coming to Toronto in 2019 he had been consultant surgeon at Birmingham Children's Hospital for 20 years. His particular interests are surgery for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, congenitally corrected transposition and complex pulmonary atresia.
Alejandro Floh MD, MSc. FRCP(C) is a staff physician in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Toronto. Dr. Floh gained his MD from the University of Toronto, completed Paediatric Residency at McMaster University, and Fellowship training in Cardiology and Critical Care at SickKids. Dr. Floh is cross appointed to the division of Pediatric Cardiology and a member of the Single Ventricle team. His academic interests include outcomes research for Single Ventricle heart disease, translational research in the inflammatory and metabolic responses to cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, and critical nutrition. Dr. Floh is the associate program director for Pediatric Critical Care and leads the Cardiac Critical Care subspecialty training program.
