Fundamentals of Radiation Dosimetry

First published in 1980, the original version of Fundamentals of Radiation Dosimetry provided the basic information required by newcomers in the field of radiation dosimetry. Since that time there have been a number of advances in dosimetry measurement methods and calculational techniques: SI units have been extensively introduced and the ICRU has developed new dosimetric quantities, particularly to meet the needs of the new radiation protection system introduced by the ICRP in 1991.

Fundamentals of Radiation Dosimetry, Third Edition updates all of the established areas of radiation dosimetry presented in the original edition and covers new and developing areas in a number of extra sections and chapters. Emphasis is placed on the basic quantities and units, the relationships between them, and the principles of their measurement. New topic areas include microdosimetry, biological dosimetry, Monte Carlo code and other calculational techniques, internal dosimetry of radionuclides, new radiation protection quantities, and the treatment of uncertainties.
