This extensively updated edition is a practical guide to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias that meets the needs of this highly specialized, complex and growing field of cardiology. As understanding of the evaluation of treatment of arrhythmias continues to advance at a rapid pace, learning and understanding the principles of electrophysiology in order to provide the best possible treatments for patients can be a daunting task.
With a scientific, practical and multi-disciplinary approach, Cardiac Electrophysiology in Clinical Practice establishes the foundation of the subject and provides a concise illustrative approach to facilitate and enhance understanding. It is designed to be accessible to serve as an introduction to electrophysiology, but advanced enough to serve as a guide for experienced practitioners. Electrophysiology students of all levels, including residents, fellows, mid-level providers, nurses, technologists, primary care providers, cardiologists and electrophysiologists will find value in these pages.
David T. Huang, M.D. is the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Huang has been training medical students, residents, cardiology fellows and electrophysiology fellows for over 25 years. He has also helped train nurses, technicians and other allied health professionals for even longer. He has been chosen as Teacher of the Year Award many times by his trainees. Dr. Huang has authored a number of chapters in textbooks in cardiology and electrophysiology as well as scores of original scientific manuscripts.
Travis Prinzi, MA, MS, CEPS, is a published author and editor and an IBHRE-certified electrophysiology specialist with over 17 years of experience mapping cardiac arrhythmias and teaching the principles of electrophysiology to fellows, nurses, and technicians of all levels.
Sonja Kreckel is a senior nurse practitioner in the Cardiac Electrophysiology division at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is an IBHRE-certified clinical device specialist with over 20 years EP experience. She has trained a multitude of advanced practice providers, nurses and students through the years.
