This CD-ROM presents interactive case studies drawn from real-life clinical practice on four psychiatric disorders that often pose unique nursing management challenges: paranoid schizophrenia in the acutely psychotic phase; acute withdrawal from alcohol dependence; borderline personality disorder; and anorexia nervosa. The case studies are sequentially developed to guide users stepwise through the comprehensive nursing process--etiology, current symptoms and DSM-IV-TR diagnostic criteria, assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of client progress. The multimedia program includes narration, audio clips, color photographs, video clips, charts, interactive questions with answers, and assessment guides--plus a scoring feature to evaluate the user's mastery of content.
