The emphasis throughout is on radiographic appearances with special attention given to plain film studies of the chest augmented with other modalities such as CT, MR, PET whenever appropriate. The book covers all aspects of imaging of diseases of the lungs, pleura, and mediastinum and incorporates key pertinent information on anatomy, physiology and clinical perspectives throughout. Common and uncommon disorders are covered. Logically organized, the book begins with several chapters on general topics ( Technical Considerations, the Normal Chest, Basic Patterns of Lung Disease) and then proceeds to cover the radiologic findings and relevant clinical and pathological features of all the disease likely to be encountered (including pneumonia, tuberculosis, fungal disease, AIDs and other forms of immunocompromise, and neoplasms).
