Andreas Xyrichis BSc, MSC, PhD, FHEA is an academic researcher and senior lecturer at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care at KCL. He has held clinical, research and policy posts in London and Brussels and his training has been in nursing, research methodology, health policy and sociology. Specific areas of interest include intensive care, interprofessional postgraduate education, medical sociology, health policy, health workforce planning and teamwork. He is course leader for 'Evidence Based Decision Making in Healthcare'- a postgraduate interprofessional course delivered face-to-face and online to over 150 clinicians annually; and for the blended learning course 'Team Based Healthcare Practice', which is delivered to post-licensure healthcare professionals in London and Singapore. Andreas is a Trustee of the UK-based Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE) and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Interprofessional Care. Andreas' research is supported by the National Institute for Health Research and other funders to investigate interprofessional, team-based practice interventions for patient safety and quality improvement. He has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK since 2013.
