Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology

This text is aimed at the non-specialist paediatrician and offers a source of reference to all the common and some rarer conditions encountered in clinical practice. Included are disease and disorders relating to nutrition - or malnutrition which affect both the gastrointestinal system and liver and in children result in delayed growth and developmental problems. The complete range of common and uncommon disorders of the GI tract and liver, and nutrition-related diseases, are illustrated through clinical photographs of disease presentation, radiology, endoscopy, histology and pathology. In the pancreas chapter, recent advances and current interest in cystic fibrosis are explored. Complications arising post-transplant, both short and long term effects are dealt with in the liver transplantation chapter.
