This is a collection of papers presented at the International Neutron Therapy Workshop held at the University of Kentucky at Lexington, 24-27 May 1990. Topics considered include the radiobiology of neutrons, radiation hazards and late effects, and adjuvant therapy for neutrons.
This volume should be of interest to future neutron and high LET workers and radiotherapists. The 1985 Proceedings reported that Cf-252 neutrons were effective for cancer therapy of bulky, unfavourable presentations, as well as for cure of many cancers. The present Proceedings report ways and avenues to explore in future trials and research to improve efficacy of neutron therapy using CF-252. Thermal neutron capture therapy, hyperthermia, chemical modifiers of neutron effects, optimal combinations with photon therapy and adjuvant therapy of debulked, locally eradicated tumours all offer potential means of making CF-252 therapy more effective. CF-252 neutron therapy offers exceptional promise for study in future cancer treatment trials aimed at tumour cure.

Radiobiology of Cf-252 neutrons; radiation hazards and late effects; adjuvant therapy for neutrons; special lecture; cervical cancer Cf-252 neutron therapy.
