This volume presents five new studies in the field of neuroendocrine medicine which have implications for clinical research in neuroscience and immunology. The first study provides evidence that brain aromatase exerts considerable control over aggressive behaviour in vertebrates. The second discusses how the neuroendocrine system may function as a marker for genetic susceptibility to ethanol addiction. The third examines a new vascular endothelial growth factor that may facilitate tumour growth and metastasis.
