Uwe Vieweg, MD, PhD, is Head of the Department of Surgical and Conservative Spine Therapy, Sana Hospital Rummelsberg, Schwarzenbruck near Nürnberg, Germany. After graduating from Magdeburg Medical School in 1988, Dr. Vieweg undertook training in Surgery and Neurosurgery, qualifying as a Certified Neurosurgeon in 1997. He worked as a Consultant in the Department of Neurosurgery, Friedrich-Schiller University, Jena before becoming Head of Department of Spine Surgery at Leopoldina Hospital, Schweinfurt in 2003. Dr. Vieweg is an active member of various medical societies, including the German Society of Neurosurgery, the European Spine Society, the German Spine Society, and AO Spine Europe; he was a member of the AO Spine Council, Germany. He has published various articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international meetings.
Frank Grochulla, MD, is a Certified Neurosurgeon who works at the Metropol Medical Center, Nürnberg, Germany. His previous positions have included Head of Department at the Spine Center Euromed-Clinic Fürth and Consultant and Chief Staff Surgeon at the Spine Center Schön Klinik Munich.
