A moving account of how Jecca Brook founded Campden Home Nursing, a charity for the care of the terminally ill in their own homes and how that charity has blossomed.
Told by way of a conversation between two health professionals, this account of one woman's remarkable success in establishing a charity for the care of the terminally ill in their own homes can not help but be deeply moving.

Jecca Brook and her son, Will, discuss deep issues about how such care is provided yet the conversation retains the warmth of human relationships without ever descending into professional jargon.

Jessica Brook founded Campden Home Nursing in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire and was 14 years at the helm of this outstanding charity. The conversation covers that whole period and is testament to how one woman's commitment to an idea not only established the charity as an exceptional service but also set the scene for its continued existence and expansion after her retirement. Jecca continued to support the charity until her death in 2020.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Campden Home Nursing.

Ever since childhood Jecca wanted to be a nurse and she trained at St George's 1957/9. She married David in 1961 and entered RAF life with her characteristic enthusiasm. Family was her top priority - Mum to Julie and William, grandmother to five and, in addition, valued friend to many of all ages. She also found time to make use of her nursing skills and this included care for each of her parents in the last months of their lives. In 1990 she and David moved to the Cotswolds and, with great encouragement from the two Chipping Campden GPs and the local community, she started Campden Home Nursing - to provide care, free of cost, for the dying and their families in their own homes. Jecca died in 2020 and is sorely missed by family, friends and the local community.
